Finishing Touches
Tuesday, August 7th, 2007The 360|Flex show is only a few days away, and I’ve been polishing the “Patterns in Flex” presentation almost daily. Developers here at Allurent have provided a lot of help trimming the content down to an hour’s worth of essentials! And I was fortunate enough to be invited to do a dress rehearsal of the talk at a Design Patterns meeting of the Boston Flash Platform User Group on 8/1. I couldn’t wish for a more perfect audience for this talk. It seems almost absurdly convenient that there is a group of Flash/Flex developers meeting regularly and locally to discuss Design Patterns! But after all, this is Cambridge.
Thanks to Douglas McCarrol for arranging the dress rehearsal, and to all the BFPUG members who attended it. The feedback was extremely valuable. The Boston Flash Platform User Group site is http://www.bfpug.com
A final list of sub-topics for the talk has emerged.
- Implementing Reusable View Classes
- Using MXML for Application Configuration
- Patterns for Organizing Controller Classes
- Patterns for Organizing Model Classes
